IMHO, Linux is better. You have Apache for your webserver and it runs the majority of the web servers on the internet (last time I checked anyway). One of the main reasons is dependability. Don't get me wrong Windows based machines are as good as they've ever been, but you can set and forget a Linux box once configured. In all, I'd take a Linux webserver over Windows any day.
