cat lovers! I really do not get it. Dogs I think have personalities but I have never really seen that in cats. Am I the only one?

I think it's a perspective thing. I have cats, grew up with cats, love cats. I definitely recognise that different ones have their own personalities for example my tom cat is about the grumpies cat I've ever seen. My female cat on the other hand is bright, bubbly, and very friendly. On the other hand I don't see the attraction with birds or fish. Do fish have personalities? If someone says yes I'm going to feel guilty about my dinner for sure!

As all cat owners know, individual cats have very different personalities. However, there are some common themes in the way they act. For example, cats tend to be more independent than dogs; they are somewhat more cryptic; they sleep a lot; they are fixed in their habits; and they are fastidious about their hygiene.

These commonalties aside, there are many unique personality types that are the result of their genetics and personal experiences. Have you noticed the distinct characteristics of your cat that make him or her unique. Is your cat loveable, full of energy, always exploring every nook and cranny, aggressive, scared of unusual sounds or movements, or always wanting to play? These are just a few characteristics that shape the personality of your beloved cat.

I have noticed that each cat I have encountered or owned are different. No two are alike, just like us. They each also have some characteristics that are similar to another cat, but they are not identical, giving them their own personality.
