Hi, I'm James, 18 from the UK... Im new here... but soon, I am moving to Los Angeles, for many reasons, mostly for work and opportunities.. so I guess its quite a big step from me... being 18 and moving away from home to LA. Anyway, I enjoying learning lots of different programming languages, I am currently learning PHP... but I like ASP.net too... but its expensive to develop on... then there is C Sharp.. which I have developed on to.. but the problem with lots of languages, they seem to be only for one specific platform.. ie. C Sharp for Windows only, and Objective-C for Macintosh. The only cross-platform language I know of is Java... works on all operating systems and the web. It's funny how colleges worldwide teach Microsoft's C Sharp language to students, never anything else or anything open-source.. James

Java is the only major cross-platform language I can think of too. Times change so fast. When I was in college (just a few years ago), they were all teaching Java. It was supposed to be the next best thing, but it has lost a lot of momentum due to the C# craze. Good luck with your work in LA!
