Is it a real eating disorder if those over eating bouts come just out of stressed? One of my friends eats like a maniac when she is nervous, but she is not fat at all. The rest of the time she eats normal. can that be called a condition?

It's definitely not a healthy eating habit. But I'd only categorize it as a disorder if she is staying thin by vomiting afterwards. Or, perhaps, if she is constantly on diet pills.

I think it probably depends on what level of stress that leads to over-eating, serious, major stress then no. If she over-eats everytime something goes a bit wrong then it may be an issue.

I think overeating in any condition is not good for our health and it should be avoided.
