Many times, I see the attendence reports, but the number of people in the stands doesn't match up. Sometimes there are a ton of empty seats and they report a near sell-out.   
   
 A while back, I read an article that said that this is because they count in the giveaway tickets, even if the people don't attend. I think this is a very strange way to count attendance because it seems to inflate the numbers. Is there a reason for doing this? My guess is that it either ties to money or perception. What do you think?
